Micklems Farm Summer School: As some of you may know, sadly Marlborough Summer School isn’t going ahead this year. We’ve teamed up with some of the tutors who normally teach at the Marlborough Summer School to bring you some exciting one and two day workshops. All of our Summer School workshops are being held in the barn, which is up a flight of stairs.

It is very satisfying to make your own sketchbook and to start the workshop Janina will guide you through all the steps to make your own hard back A5 concertina sketchbook. While this is drying we will do some short exercises to generate ideas for filling the sketchbook, including motifs, patterns and doodles and will prepare some pages for collage. Next we will get out the paints and create a series of backgrounds directly into our concertina sketchbook. After that the fun really begins as we start to complete the pages with painted shapes, collaged motifs and then adding more details with pens and crayons.   

What to bring:

• Large cutting mat

• Sturdy craft knife (not a scalpel)

• Metal ruler

• Pencil, rubber, sharpener

• Brushes suitable for acrylic paint

• Kitchen roll

• A packed lunch

Included on the day:

• Any other materials not specified for the students to bring

• Expert tuition

• 1 to 1 guidance

• Detailed demonstrations

• A selection of tea, freshly brewed coffee, biscuits and delicious cakes. If ou have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please feel free to bring along your own provisions/milk alternatives etc

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
