Micklems Farm Summer School: As some of you may know, sadly Marlborough Summer School isn’t going ahead this year. We’ve teamed up with some of the tutors who normally teach at the Marlborough Summer School to bring you some exciting one and two day workshops. All of our Summer School workshops are being held in the barn, which is up a flight of stairs.

There are many ways of transferring an image onto fabric and each one gives a slightly different outcome. You can get a perfect image with some products and interestingly vintaged images from others. In this one day workshop we will look at 4 different ways of transfer using stitch, transfer paper, bondaweb and gel mediums and will consider how they can be used in ones textile practise. I will bring plenty of samples for students to look through.

What to bring:

• A packed lunch

• 5 or 6 photocopies of images you would like to transfer. Birds, flowers, people , music, written word etc.

• At least 2 of these photocopies should be from a laser printer. They can be black and white and/or colour.

• Fabric to transfer onto eg. Calico, cotton. Nothing too dark.

• Sewing kit

• Scissors

• Some small pieces of fabric

Included on the day:

• Any materials not specified for students to bring

• Expert tuition

• 1 to 1 guidance

• Detailed demonstrations

• A selection of tea, freshly brewed coffee, biscuits and delicious cakes. If you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please feel free to bring along your own provisions/milk alternatives etc.

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
