We are pleased to bring back our popular drawing and painting course for beginners, led by our talented tutor Caroline Crawford.
All materials are supplied and fresh coffee, tea, and biscuits are provided.
This ten week course is from Monday 20th January until Monday 31st March, with a break for half term week commencing 17th February. Each class will run for three hours from 14:00 - 17:00 and you will learn at a gentle pace, with lots of help and encouragement from your tutor in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The course is full of hints and tips to bring out your inner artist, with lots of demonstrations and one to one tuition by your tutor in a beautiful studio setting. Through each project you will learn stage by stage how to build your painting and drawing skills, as the course is varied in subjects. You will work though a wide assortment of art materials, including watercolour, pencil drawing, pastels, acrylics, mixed media, and more. The class size is small, so that you benefit from all we have to offer.
Caroline is one of our regular tutors, she delivers a variety of drawing and painting projects with enthusiasm and a friendly approach. She says ‘Creating art is a way of finding yourself, whilst losing yourself at the same time’.
Please note that each term features different seasonal projects. There are no repeats from previous terms.
Level 1 explained:
This is the entry level course, where the focus is for those students that want to learn at a gentle, guided pace. This would be a foundation pathway to build onto in the future, with lots of help and support. Students may be relatively new to the subject and wish to be taken through the range of projects stage by stage, covering the principles. They will be guided through the primary elements of drawing and painting and gain a general understanding of art materials and how to use them. They will learn about colour theory, as well as the blending and application of colour using a range of materials and subjects. The projects covered will cover the first steps and essentials needed to build a broad understanding of: Landscape, portraiture, still life, perspective, composition, drawing and painting skills, using a wide range of subject and materials.

A selection of tea, freshly brewed coffee and biscuits. If you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please feel free to bring along your own provisions/milk alternatives etc.

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend any of the workshops, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop.
