We are pleased to bring back our popular six week course learning to make stained glass using traditional tools and materials. This six week course is from Wednesday 19th February until Wednesday 26th March and each class will run for three hours from 10:00 - 13:00.

There will be a variety of projects available to choose from which include leaded panels, copper foil lanterns and garden panels. Nicola will also be teaching kiln fired glass painting. Traditional glass paint is a black medium applied to the surface of coloured glass and kiln-fired. It is used to create patterns and textures on the glass which are independent of the lead line. Working at your own pace, with group demonstrations and individual guidance you will build up skills and develop your projects in a relaxed and informal way. You may also choose to work on a larger project and make a panel which could be installed in your home. Your tutor will provide tools and equipment for you to use.

Materials are not included in the course fee - If you choose to work on projects provided by the tutor the following price guide will help you: (You can expect to make approximately 3 projects across the 6 weeks) 

• A3 panel - £48

• A4 panel - £28

• Garden stake panel with zinc and steel - £45

• Copper foil lantern - £38

• Use of glass paint, brushes and kiln firings – from £10

If you are working on a larger project or you would like to make more than one garden stake and/or lantern, you will be encouraged to buy your own materials from a local supplier. But some materials will be available on a pay as you go basis. Students that choose to work on a large project will need to bring their own board and glass easel to work on. Details will be provided at the first session.

Health and Safety

This course involves the use of lead and lead based paint. It is not suitable for pregnant women.

Please wear closed shoes and bring protective eye wear for cutting glass.

Good manual dexterity needed.

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend the workshop, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop.
