Come and join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll create your very own clay lamp base, decorated with beautiful countryside scenes! You'll start by building your lamp base using the coiling technique, shaping the clay into a sturdy and unique form. Once the base is complete, you’ll get to add decorative details by scratching designs into the surface and attaching extra features, like charming hanging decorations, using specialist nichrome wire.

On the day, we’ll guide you through adding colour to parts of your design, bringing your countryside-inspired creation to life.
At the end of your workshop, Chloe will take your piece to be dried, glazed and fired. This process takes between 4-6 weeks. Once your piece is ready, the lamp fixture will be fitted and your piece will be returned to Micklems for you to collect.

Materials:

Materials will be provided by the tutor. This includes the lamp fixture which will be fitted into your lamp The cost of these is £22 which includes the glazing and firing, payable to the tutor during the course.

What to bring:

• Apron

• Your favourite paintbrushes if you have any!

• Pictures of your favourite countryside scene if you would like to use them as inspiration

• Packed lunch

• A selection of tea, freshly brewed coffee, biscuits and delicious cakes. If you have any specific dietary requirements or allergies, please feel free to bring along your own provisions/milk alternatives etc.

Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us using the contact page on the Micklems Farm website. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to insufficient places sold and you will be refunded the full amount paid.
